Duct Tape / Brown Paper Tape Dress Form Workshop March 13, 2004
At Old Bedford Village
Supplies needed:
2 to 3 60-yard rolls of duct tape or brown paper tape, available at office supply
stores
Snug-fitting, disposable t-shirt or turtleneck; dress form will be taped onto
the shirt, and then the tape and shirt will be cut off, retaped and filled,
so this should be a shirt you don't mind cutting up
Sponge (for paper tape dummy) Hair dryer (for paper tape dummy)
Poly-fill batting, to fill dress form
Permanent marker
Clothes hanger
PVC pipe, shower rod, or broom stick, for dress form stand
Christmas tree stand or other base
Cardboard for closing off bottom, neck and arm openings in dress form
Heavy-duty scissors
Measuring tape 18th century stays (to be worn under shirt when wrapping)
Cost: Since this will be a mutual learning workshop (i.e., no teacher - we'll all be following the directions from Threads Magazine's website), the only cost will be a site fee of $20 per person, payable at the workshop. Food: Bring a bag lunch; or, there are numerous restaurants, from fast food to sit-down, within 2 miles of the site.
Directions: Old Bedford Village is located on business Route 220 , two
miles north of downtown Bedford.
From the Pennsylvania Turnpike, take Exit 146 (Bedford), then turn right. OBV
is less than one mile on the right. From I-99, take Exit 1, then turn right.
OBV is less than one mile on the right. From U.S. Route 30, take I-99, then
follow above directions.

Judy's Motel Bedford - 814-623-9118 Located 1 mile frm Old Bedford Village. Price per night $31.00 for 1 person, $38.00 for 2 people plus taxes. These are weekend rates.
Jean Bonnet Tavern - 814-623-2250 An 18th century tavern just outside of Bedford, about 4 miles from Old Bedford Village. Bed & Breakfast type accomodation. Prices are from $85, $90, $100, & $120 plus taxes per night depending on the room chosen.
